ABOUT  Jayde on Film

Hello, my name is Jayde pronounced like the green gemstone. I am an established model who specializes in fine art and story telling. I have been published domestically and internationally; including being the cover model of a few dozen magazines and being featured on Vogue and Vogue Italia.

I am constantly developing relationships with other creatives in the industry through open shoots, stylized shoots, photo retreats and workshops. I also continously strive to improve in my art by growing my comfort level in different genres of modeling, posing for photography students, participating in Vogue Italia's Photo Vogue Festival, attending educational conferences and seeking guidance and opinions from industry veterans both locally and internationally.

While I had been performing in musicals and various choirs off and on professionally since elementary, I didn’t get in front of a camera until I was 16. I ended up discovering that I have a real knack for it between my acting background which enables me to project different emotions, to flexibility from over a decade of competitive figure skating training. A month before my 18th birthday I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which caused me to put my competitive skating on a back burner due to the symptoms I was experiencing. Through my diagnosis I only grew more fond of modeling, since it was something I was able to do even when I was having a rough day.

I find story telling to be of bigger importance than looking pretty when it comes to my photos. My favorite personal style is somewhere between fine art with a cinematic element. I almost minored in film studies when I was getting my Bachelor's degree at the University of Washington so I love when my photos look like a movie scene that someone hit pause on. I also enjoy finding quotes or putting snippets from my own writings to my photos when posting on social media to give my audience a feel for what I’m trying to convey and spark within you.

As for my vintage collection, I have been wearing vintage clothes since I was in elementary, but only started to dive back in full force my Junior year of high school. My favorite era has to be somewhere between the 50’s and 70’s. Although I do have a weakness for Victorian pieces and Gunne Sax, along with my problem with 50’s prom dresses. I have a strong passion for ethical fashion and wearing vintage has such an impact on reducing the carbon footprint that fast fashion contributes to. I hope to never stop acquiring vintage pieces as I find them so unique and beautiful, especially pieces that are handmade and one of a kind, there's something special about owning the only version in existence. Unfortunately, it means that some pieces can only be worn in certain photoshoot settings to help preserve their history.

VINTAGE WARDROBE

Regarding my vintage wardrobe which is something that sets me apart as a model, I have over 300 items dating back to the 1800's. They can be viewed on my Facebook Page for my closet; which is sorted by era via albums and is also updated frequently.
